There are many ways to learn about the salt marsh and get involved in caring for it.
Visit the Salt Marsh Nature Center! It is located at 3302 Avenue U in Brooklyn (E. 33rd St. and Avenue U).
here for travel directions. The SMNC is open to the public from April 1 - October 31: open to the public
Saturday and Sunday 12:00 noon - 4:00 pm, and for registered and scheduled activities at all other times.
November 1 - March 31: open by appointment and for registered and scheduled activities Admission is
always free.
Our rehabilitated trail  offer
s spectacular views of the shore and its waterfowl. The trail is  open from dawn
to dusk every day.

Visit our nature center building and walk the trails. You will see abundant flora and fauna! Get to know the Salt Marsh's
Volunteer! Volunteers are crucial to the Nature Center's operation. There are jobs for every skill level, and
as long as you're over 18, you don't need any special qualifications beyond a desire to help.
Or garden area
is maintained chiefly by our volunteers, who are especially proud of our native gardens.
For example, you
can get close to nature by helping to plant cordgrass and clear weeds If you have an idea for an activity, the
SMNC staff would love to hear it.

Become a Member of the SMA! Membership is open to anyone. For a small contribution you can play a
vital role in caring for the salt marsh so you and your neighbors will be able to enjoy it for a long time.
