The Salt Marsh Alliance, Inc. (SMA) is holding its nature photography competition. The purpose of this competition is to highlight the natural beauty within Marine Park, Brooklyn. Photographs must be taken within the park boundaries. Nature, seasonal changes, local wildlife, and area of historical interest are all encouraged as subject matter.
Judges will review the submitted photographs and award certificates in a variety of categories. The contest is open to both amateur and professional photographers and to all age groups. Works submitted to the contest must have been taken between August 31, 2019 and September 30, 2025 Submission of works starts on May 1, 2025 and continues until September30, 2025. The winners of the competition will be announced in late fall. Photographs received before submission opening day or after closing will not be considered in this competition. Judges reserve the right to discard any photographs deemed in poor taste
Rules
4 photographs per photographer will be permitted
Photographer will retain copyright on the images. If published, photo credit will be given
All photographs are assumed to be taken by the persons submitting them.
Submission
Photo style of any type will be permitted.
Color or black and white are acceptable.
Digital or scanned photos are acceptable.
Subject matter must be restricted to inside the park boundaries.
How to Submit
Photographs will only be accepted in .jpg format via Email to the following Email address: photographysaltmarsh@gmail.com
Size of entry is limited to email server limitations. Photographs should be submitted at 72 dpi and be no larger than 1024 px on the longest side.
Photographs must be labeled with your name, description/location-title of work and approximate date—example—John Smith-Egret1-December 2024
